...or forever be silent.

Je suis détruite par les gens stupids.

-

Overheard in lecture...
A: What does negate mean?
B: [pause] Er... erm... regulate?

[context: "DNA viruses negate tumour suppressors"]

The point of this is the word -negate-, because terms like -DNA viruses- and -tumour suppressors- are already familiar to year 3 students. So it is only the level of English in question. But jh says -negate- is a difficult word. So I guess I'm the abnormal one.

-

People who are not supposed to be in my lab session but come and happily -book- comp terminals for their friends who show up late and it was especially irritating because they used 2 -things- to -book- 3 comps @#$% and they didn't say anything when I sat there [mostly because the comps they -booked- were @#$ in the row behind them] major source of irritation asdfghjkl

-

I think I know of a possible reason why zw doesn't seem to have a good impression of me (to the point of hostility/pointedly ignoring). I can't say for sure, but it might be because wz was her classmate in secondary school. If zw can be involved in -slandering- (read: gossip/spreading of untruths about) Amy here when Amy's half a world away, there's really no reason to say that there's no way zw could have known about/been on the receiving end of the same thing about me. Oh well. Just a little bit of speculation. But not at all far-fetched. Haha.

-

Why do people make friends? [by the way I do not believe in having to -Try- to make friends by the way I cannot stand -fake- people] Because friends make good companions? Because friends are Useful? I cannot stand it when I see people -trying- to make friends. I cannot stand it when I can see their motives. Because there aren't supposed to be motives at all. Why can't people get their proirities right? Are friends friends because they're useful? Or are they friends first? And are friends supposed to be useful in the first place? Why do people expect so much from each other? What makes them think they have the right to expect anything from another? Well. Too many questions. Shrug.

-

It is quite disturbing to witness someone's mid-life crisis. But people around me are quite oblivious to it. Or, they don't seemed concerned at all. Still, it is not my place to voice my opinions on this, or even to inquire. Because, as my mother said to me today, 大人的事小孩子不要管. Er... I am young. Whee...

-

People are so scary. Hmmm no. I mean, people are mostly tiresome and sometimes irritating. [if you compare across the whole population. and remember I'm a snob] And hard to handle. Doesn't help that I know what they're after; it just puts me off even more. Sigh.

-

One of the strings of the 7th C of my piano broke.

-

I didn't get full marks for my Japanese mid-term test. Because I wrote くたもの instead of くだもの. And I can't believe I didn't see the mistake even though I checked. Death penalty.

Wonder why.
Do I give people the impression that I'm very cheerful? Haha.

Archery!

Yesterday I took the treacherous journey to the stadium at NUS to watch the NUS Archery Championships [or something like that]. Treacherous because I fell down and scraped my knee. Hmph. Stupid mud-on-concrete-footpath. I was fine going down the wet grassy slope what. @#$%... Anyway, archery is so interesting. My first impression was of the many subsets of many things. Haha. Subsets are so fun. Er. I digress. Archery is funky. Though I don't really understand how it works [exactly]. =P Funky funky. The sounds are funky too! The thud of arrows on the target board, the twang of bow strings, the squeaky of arrows being pulled out [rather forcefully] from the board... hee hee. jh looks totally cute! AND cool as well. AND skinny. Wheee.. Oh and the sun was nice the wind was nice the sky was nice... *grinz* I only started taking photos during the 2nd round [80cm target]; I was happy squinting at everything before that. *cross-eyed* Haha. So fun! And I got sunburnt of course. jx looks like an inverse panda now. I want contacts! *mutter mutter* And I had to leave in the middle of the afternoon to go home cos there was rehearsal in the evening and I went for rehearsal and it ended late and I reached home late and I was tired and I went to sleep that's why I didn't blog last night and I'm too lazy to paragraph or to make sentences properly... bleah.

Here are a few of them photos.. =)

For a start...

much much cuteness!

Breaktime between round 1 and 2. Pretty pretty. =P

orion overhead. i love looking at stars on the walk home from the mrt station. looking at stars makes me feel as though things are going to be fine. just because, hey, the constellations are stil there, the earth still turns. and tonight i shut the world out with Gackt's Redemption. whee. something particularly therapeutic about that. =p

aujourd'hui

1. joyjoy and me we ate lunch at thai express paragon. halfway through our yummy tomyum soup we discovered a teeny caterpillar [~1cm long?] floating in the bowl. we pointed the "little thingy" out to the waitress. the manager came and apologized profusely. we had the order cancelled instead of replaced because we were kind of full already. hmm... i think i should look on the bright side. caterpillar means the veggies used were kinda pesticide-free. haha. the food's yummy though.

2. the supreme court smells nice.

3. gunpeople.

4. i am stressed.

crab pot? a bundle of contradictions

right now... jx is kind of shocked.
cos jx attended 2 flute lessons today. 2 hours each, cos exams coming soon. and jx made 200 bucks. goodness. so jx is scared. not to mention stressed. cos i still sound like @#$%. argh. give me money i also scared. haha. nvm. shall practise more!!!!

in other [useless] news [again to do with words on vehicles], just now on the way home on expressway saw an ah-beng-looking car with the hiragana characters かになべ big big across the rear window. i'm not going to include the romanized version of the thing. but it was ok-amusing all the same. blarh.

achy.
wants full-body massage.

exactly one week later...

This morning, on the bus on my way to tuition, I saw, through the rear window of some car, a golf bag with the letters T-E-T-S-U-J-I-N embroidered (in gold, no less) along its length. It looked definitely Japanese. I was wondering what it might mean when I remembered something I'd learnt in class not very long ago. ちかてつ [地下鉄], to be precise. I started laughing then [and once again people around me gave me weird looks], for TETSUJIN = てつじん = 鉄人!!!!!!! Another one! Exactly one week after ゲームの鉄人!

*dies*

PX, I bought this = a book I can't read. =p
Can't wait to read the book I can't read!

Today
1 x tuition
2 x flute lesson

l'arc en ciel =P

l'arrrrrrrrrc en ciel.
It was the biggest and most complete rainbow I'd ever seen in Singapore. It was HUGE. Whee. So exciting. Rainbow made jx happy. =) The sky was trying not to lose out to the pretty rainbow by appearing blue, pink, orange, grey etc all at once. Haha. Was craning my neck to see the prettiness on the bus ride out of school. Thank goodness it was an air-con-less double decker bus. I knew something good would come out of the gloomy rainy day =p

< BF >
Anyway. I don't like people who are deliberately cryptic. Deliberate to the extent where you can actually See them Trying to appear all mysterious and complicated. When they're obviously Not. Oh well. I think I should put in more effort to ignore these people.
< /BF >

Onward.
To something exciting. Everything also exciting. ...
When will the exciting box reach Lynette's? Can't really guess from the info here, cos we have no idea how long it'll be stuck in Singaporean DHL-place. Haha. Exciting nonetheless.

On a blogging spree..

I overcame my fear and strong reluctance of going near the piano. And practised for about 2 hours just now. Somehow it turns out that of the three pieces the Mozart is the easiest. Easier than the Latino pieces! -O.O- Sigh. Stressed.

I regret not going to see the Chingay Parade just now. I wasn't very interested in it, but after watching the news I'm regretting my decision not to go. Well, it's been a rainy day. Sigh. So now I have no idea where I'm going to find nice subjects for people-photos and I guess I'll have to give up hope of ever winning an EOS350 and a trip to London... -bish- *waiting for inspiration to fall from the sky*

-Gackt Goodness-
Just putting these here for easy clickclicking. Haven't decided whether I'll put these links on the sidebar. Hahaha... Anyways.

Gackt - Redemption PV
Gackt - Redemption PV [Dirge of Cerberus version]
Gackt's role in DoC pretty pretty =p

and of course there are other nice FF:DoC commercials and Gackt stuff and...
I'm so going to buy all the Gackt DVDs. Eventually.
BLEAH.

Nonsense.

On my way to tuition this morning, I saw a taxi with a sticker that says "ゲームの鉄人" on its behind, on the metal thingy above the number plate. Somehow I found it funny [maybe because I'm used to taxi drivers being uncles and I can't imagine them being ゲームの鉄人s] and I was laughing to myself. The people around me on the bus must have thought I was crazy. Oh well. Bleah.

Why is it that some people manage to... unleash their full potentials and do things that are so them? Haha I'll have to think about that...

*thinks*

*somewhat happier*

Actually, today wasn't really bad or anything. Jap was fine. And I think the teacher recognizes me now, because my Jap buddy went MIA on Thursday and I had to partner the teacher for dialogue practice. Eek. And she said I was very good! Sheesh. Almost died. I like Jap. Though I must admit there isn't as much room for wordplay and funny things as English or French [yet]... it's still fun. That's because I'm obsessed. And obsession is unconditional.

にちようび げつようび かようび すいようび もくようび きんようび どようび

Went out walk walk in the afternoon. Demoralising. Oh well. But the game[s] of pool were alright I guess. At least I managed to lose with more action. Oh well. Lousiness. Perhaps I need more practice. Shall see.

And I'm stressed. Because I can't play piano anymore! Sheesh. Have to find [lots of] time to practise practise practise. And kick myself into shape. @#$% Oh speaking about music, I was glad I solved the instrument [the lack of] problem with an SMS to Andy this morning. I was lucky I guess. Heh. AND I was asked to ask Andy if he could conjure up another tenor for this Sunday for another player and guess what! He actually could! Amazingness. I guess I owe him a drink. =p

Well the thing that made me happy happy today was that Sigita received her birthday present! Whee. The present [a card and a pretty dragonfly pendant from Perlini's and a bit of leather] travelled such a long way! It took about a week to reach her in Lithuania I think. So cool. *high* Funkiness. I really enjoy the little "cultural exchange" sessions we have on MSN every now and then too! Haha. Madness.

-jx is happy that she has friends in funky faraway places-

I want to massacre my hair. Now.
And my evil plan to gain weight is not working...

Wednesday, February 01, 2006
