Amusing review on Sunday's concert. Somehow there was less than the usual amount of criticism, rather surprising.
I have no idea what we sounded like from the audience's point of hearing, but I have to say that even though I believe we sounded quite good there's still much room for improvement. Me needs to improve, for one. =( Perhaps many people will think that we sound nice, heh, but yes, room for improvement. Lalala. Teehee. We did much much better than during rehearsals or during the soundcheck though. It's cool, but also scary because the learning curve is rather exponential =p bleh. I like the pieces this time, much happiness and grandness and softness. I also like the conductor better this time. Haha.

[stupid electrophoresis keeps dying on me. want to run at 20V also cannot. stupid thing pah.]

Next concert in June!!!

mission :: au coeur du monde

the heart of the world is about a thousand bucks away =]
not too far away.
certain places in the world feel right. can't say i've been to many places, but the heart of the world feels like a "right place". certain places [like china] make me uncomfortable. but that's due largely to the people there i think. new zealand is beautiful beautiful beautiful. in a lush and refreshing kinda way. i like it very much, but i don't think i can stay there for long periods of time. not permanently, anyway. the heart of the world, on the other hand, isn't lush-lush beautiful, but it exudes irresistible charm anyway. plus it contradicts itself enough for me to feel right at home in its bustling streets and jostling crowds and quiet evenings. bonus. =] what i'm looking for. pieces of a puzzle falling silently into place. bleh.
we [regal plural] have a mission and we will see what happens wheee

by the way

q says i shldn't allow my boyfriend [huh?] to go on exchange cos "what if 他变心?" she doesn't allow her boyfriend to go cos she cheated on him while she was on exchange. amusement. and apparently some other person's boyfriend cheated on her while he was away. blah blah blah. pah.
so?
变心又怎么样?
as though there was anything i could have done about it if it were to happen hahaha
so silly.

au coeur du monde
les amoureux s'embrassent
sous les étoiles qui
se cachent au dessus
les arbres qui
font protégé

hardened my heart so that it may not break easily

Grandma turns 82

grandma turns 82 tomorrow. instead of the usual restaurant dinner celebrations it was a buffet dinner at grandma's house this year, as grandma's suffering from a bad back and can't sit for long periods of time. me hopes grandma will be healthy-er and have lots of great-grandchildren [so far she has one with one more on the way =p]. grandma suffers from hyperglycemia and the standard assortment of aches and pains, but i think she's quite happy, because her children and grandchildren visit her every week and makes lots of noise and she gets to force everyone to eat second helpings. and i'm glad my family's like that.

W550i tries to record still images:

setup. i like how they arranged everything in tiers. on the left, shark's fin soup, prawn curry with pineapple in it, shanghai dumpling, yam paste, fruits, some cold dish thingy. on the right, fried chicken, braised duck, softshellcrabs, noodles, sweetnsournspicy fish, veggies. me ate a bit of everything except the crabs =]

i asked him to smile again a bit later hahaha

hmm

If you had 2 pieces of wire of different lengths and of identical resistivity [i.e. resistance increases with length], and connected them both to an electrical source in the same circuit, which path would "electricity" choose / which path will experience greater current? The answer is easy enough I guess, given the rule that electricity likes the path of least resistance better. However, how does electricity, or electrons, KNOW which is the path of least resistance? In almost no time at all. Or, in extremely little time. We know what happens, but no one knows How it happens. Do the electrons [or whatever it is] actually travel down all the possible paths, testing them before deciding which has higher resistance? Or do they already know? And how is this information stored and transmitted to the electrons? =)
